About Paul Garny
Paul Garny is a Director of Operations and Retired Captain with 29 years of service under his belt. Paul has lived a unique and interesting life and is now at the forefront of Critical Care and training. As such, Paul is well-informed on Critical Care and patient outlook. One of Paul’s many specialties is taking direct care of Ebola patients
Currently, Paul Garny is Director of Operations at Care in Vermont.
Before that he was the Assistant Health Services Administrator for the Federal Medical Center Devens in Massachusetts. He worked with the organization since 2013 and until he became the direct supervisor of twenty Health Services PHS Officers and staff members. In this role, Paul is responsible for many critical tasks, including interviewing, leading, coordinating, transitioning, evaluating, etc. Likewise, Paul fits many roles within his one title: acting as Program Manager/Project Director, Chair Member, and Mentor. One of Paul’s biggest responsibilities is ensuring that the Federal Medical Center Devens meets and implements current and new standards of care as regulated by OSHA and other oversight organizations.
Paul Garny has held several other medical titles over the years. From 2006 to 2013, Paul was an Infection Control Officer, where he aided with Pandemic Planning and Infection Control. Likewise, Paul helped train employees on bio-hazards and health. Before this, Paul was a Senior Clinical Nurse (2003-2006) for the Federal Medical Center in Devens, MA. Paul’s transition into this role was seamless, thanks to his time as a Critical Care Nurse (Per Diem).
Believe it or not, Paul Garny’s time in the health industry began early. His uniformed services career started with a stint as a Medical Service Specialist. Following this, Paul became a Flight Nurse (46N3F). Paul’s final position under service was as a Critical Care Nurse. During this time, he received his final promotion to Second-Lietenent-Captain. As the Officer In Charge, Paul was responsible for many critical roles and tasks. This proves that he is no stranger to medical leadership or the hardships of healthcare.
Over the years, Paul Garny has received an extensive education. Paul started with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fitchburg State University. Following this, Paul earned his Master of Science in Healthcare Management from Touro University. However, this was far from the end of Paul’s educational career. He became a Registered Nurse in 2018, earned his CCHP (Certified Correctional Health Professional) certification in 2018, and became a Contracting Officer Representative II in 2019. Paul has received specialized training in BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Paul Garny’s life in uniform opened more doors for his educational advancement. For example, he attended CDC Training for Healthcare Workers Going to Ebola Treatment Units in Africa (2015).
Paul Garny is a hard worker with a proven track record. Often, his hard work has been acknowledged. In 2017, he received the Outstanding Service Medal. Likewise, he has been recognized by the BOP Executive Staff for his exemplary performance and leadership.
Outside of work, Paul Garny has countless hobbies and interests. Some of his favorites include riding motorcycles, boating, pickleball, tennis, skiing, and golf.
